The Maryland Association of School Librarians (MASL) is excited to continue supporting our profession by highlighting the impact of school libraries through the "101 Reasons Why I Love My Library" Campaign. The MASL kick-off date is March 1, 2025, ending on April 30, 2025. This initiative is a statewide positivity campaign celebrating libraries of all types across Maryland. We are inviting everyone to gather student and community testimonials—whether through video or written statements—that showcase the value and significance of our libraries. Use the included Canva template to highlight the testimonials. Then, share the testimonials on social media to amplify the voices of our library users (students/staff/community stakeholders) and advocate for the essential role libraries play in our schools.
We would love for librarians and schools to participate in this campaign. Your support in encouraging engagement and sharing testimonials will be instrumental in making this a powerful advocacy effort.

During a time of social distancing and to promote National School Library Month, members of MASL wanted to think of ways to connect people and share resources that would help others foster a love of reading. Using a forum called #TalkaboutIt Tuesdays, MASL offers a webinar where various topics related to school libraries and reading are discussed. On March 31, 2020, our first #TalkaboutIt Tuesday, librarians were encouraged to check-in, discuss #MASLreads and provide more suggestions for reading and literacy.
