Morning Keynote: Kathy Schrock

Instructional   Technology Specialist, Presenter, Writer, Blogger!

 

Kathy Schrock   has been a school district Director of Technology, an instructional   technology specialist, an adjunct education professor, and a middle school,   academic, museum, and public library librarian. She is currently teaching   online graduate courses for Wilkes University, as part of the   Wilkes-Discovery masters program in instructional media and for Arcadia   University. Kathy is an Adobe Education Leader, a Google Certified Teacher,   and a Discovery Education STAR and a DEN Guru. In addition to teaching online, Kathy is   known for her practical presentations dealing with pedagogically sound   practices for the embedding of technology seamlessly into teaching and   learning. Her passions are online tools to support classroom instruction, the   role of emerging technologies in the classroom, copyright and intellectual   property, and gadgets of any type!

Sharon Draper is, in her own words, “a creator, a     visionary, and a poet who approaches the world with the eyes of an artist,     the ears of a musician, and the soul of a writer.” Librarians, teachers and students know     her as the author of Tears of a Tiger, Darkness Before Dawn, Fire     from the Rock, of BES nominated titles November Blues, Double     Dutch, and Copper Sun, as well as numerous other award-winning     titles. In addition to being a     writer, Sharon is a professional educator who has received awards from the     Milken Family Foundation, Ohio Teacher of the Year, National Council of     Negro Women, and YWCA Career Woman of Achievement. MASL is honored to present her with the     2011-2012 Maryland Black-Eyed Susan Book Award for Out of My Mind.
